Life in Paradise – the Key to Happiness?

I resolved to go beyond my comfort zone and therefore ventured out on a solo travel.
I went to Thailand for a month and made a stop at a German diving school.
The dream of every stressed-out German: Emigrate to a tropical island, work as a diving instructor and let your soul dangle.
But interestingly enough, the people in paradise were just as discontent as in their office job, from which they escaped to Thailand.
Perhaps it often helps much more to work on one’s inner attitude and thoughts than to emigrate to the Glof of Thailand.
If you look around, you can also experience a lot of happiness and contentment in an average German suburb. I don’t want to say that you shouldn’t travel.
It is very enriching to get to know different cultures and people.
But being content and happy doesn’t start in Thailand, but in your own head.

House Of Blessing – My Visit to the Orphanage

I helped out at an orphanage in Chiang Mai for a week.
This orphanage has 8 employees housing 90 children and is financed only by donations.
Due to the scarce resources, the harmonious coexistence is mainly based on the willingness of the children to hand over a lot of household tasks.
Since an orphanage is not a matter of course in Thailand, the children are very grateful for the opportunity of a good education and a safe home.
This is also reflected in the fact that the children treat each other like brothers and sisters and show a lot of respect towards the staff.
They see the orphans as their own children and show them the love that is missing from their parents.
The two main problems in Thailand that make the children orphans are drug abuse and prostitution.
During my stay, I got to know not only the shiny tourist sites, but also the poor Thailand with a missing social system and many poverty problems.
Despite their difficult start in life, the children in the orphanage are very happy and are encouraged to get the best out of life through education.
